    前几日看到一个词,是奥德修记提到的食莲人(lotophagi)。我想到一直没肯去记的一个单词:既然食莲人是lotus的食者(phagoi),那么石棺sarcophagus就是肉体(sarx)的食者。单词虽然记住了,细想之下,哲理的慎得慌。

    其实王梵志也说过“城外土饅頭,餡草在城裏。一人喫一箇,莫嫌沒滋味。”这大概是他最有名的打油诗。有了sarcophagus的铺垫,就会觉得王梵志的上下联有些跳跃。上联还是坟食人,下联又让明明做了馒头馅的人转过头来食土馒头。不过多少淡化了慎得慌的哲理,还给了馅草们几许面子;一生为衣食忙碌,到另一个世界去,总也得做个吃客。

    还有一点呢,就是王梵志用的馒头跟现在南方的说法一样,有馅的也叫馒头。而不像北京要区分馒头(没馅)和包子(有馅)。土馒头的馅是草,所以是个素包子,比直接说sarco婉转。

    我倒真是觉得我有个宁波的同学,说家乡话跟日语调调一样一样的,估计小鬼子的语言从那边传过去的!

    喫是从书上搬下来的,词霸给了日文的喫茶,喫煙,这样的用法跟吴语一样。日语怎么念呢?给个转写?

    BTW, 喫 is a new chinese word for me. Have to google it...always good to know something new from Ailin's blogs. I can only pronounce it in Japanese before...
